‘Blacks’ Self-Segregating at Canadian Universities’

“While the idea of explicitly Race-segregated spaces at Canadian universities would have been unthinkable only a few years ago, recent months have seen a wave of ‘Black’-only lounges, study spaces and events at Canadian post-secondary institutions.“

“Twice a week, the University of Waterloo athletic centre suspends its usual calendar of mid-morning swim lessons, and reserves its 25-yard pool for the exclusive use of a demographic that, in their words, does not have a good “relationship with water”.

“The aim is to get more ‘Black Folx’ {‘Black’ slang used by university officials? That used to be called ‘racist condescension’} into a space where they haven’t always been welcomed {???},”

‘Canadian University Systemic Discrimination’

More Canadian university systemic discrimination…mandated by the federal government: 

“The David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science in the Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Waterloo invites applications for two tenured faculty positions.

“Position 1, all areas of artificial intelligence. The call is open only to qualified individuals who self-identify as women, ‘transgender’, ‘gender-fluid’, ‘non-binary’, or ‘Two-spirit’.

“Position 2, all areas of computer science. The call is open only to qualified individuals who self-identify as a member of a ‘racialized’ minority.”
